What a disappointment. First off, he's not a practicing doctor, just a chiropractor. Second, he bases this on weird ideas of intuition and even "God." Just another non-doctor who thinks he's a genius for being "wholistic" - as if real doctors don't ever suggest patients should change their habits to be healthier.Sure, there are hundreds of citations, but the overabundance of information in our world is the problem, and he fails to narrow it down to the best sources. So this amounts to just another book that tells you everything is terrible and you're going to die if you don't adopt an ultra hippy diet.Instead of focusing in on the most important parts of health, such as the importance of maintaining a healthy weight and eating lots of vegetables, he indulges in every alarmist idea about the threat from pesticides, antibiotics, etc. Sure, food may be ideal without that, but it's just not nearly as important as doubling down on the basic, simple things of health.Worst of all, he mandates that only organic, non-GMO foods should be eaten. Anyone informed by now should know that these labels are just not that meaningful, especially in terms of health. Scientists have felt the need to publish formal declarations condemning the anti-GMO movement as useless, at best, and at worst, destructive to progress. The most environmentally friendly and healthiest foods will likely be GMO products.Organic foods likewise are treated as mandatory. But much more important, in terms of health and environment, is eating less animal products and eating more vegetables. Yet he insists we should dish out the money for these overpriced organic items. For the first time in my life I feel valuable, and knowing my net worth makes me want to take better care of my multimillion dollar body.The chapter on how vitamin supplements are created and their associated health risks was a real eye opener for me. I can’t say enough about Food Sanity. This one book can replace all the health and diet books I’ve ever purchased, hence my reference to it being the FOOD BIBLE. I will be getting the audiobook too so I can listen to this valuable information during my long commutes to work each day. If you’re sick of buying conflicting books on diet, nutrition and weight loss, this FOOD BIBLE will be the last purchase you’ll ever need to make.
